The local newspaper Kvinnheringen came twice to interview regarding the shoot of Fortitude. The fact that the DP came all the way from Los Angeles, California and the Photographer, AC came from Turkey to shoot the film is remarkable and made an impact on the small community on the Island Halsnoy where the filming took place.

How the beautiful landscape of the Island Brit Johanne grew up on, Halsnoy is used throughout the entire film. How she refused to shoot her film back in LA despite numerous of people wanting to be involved with her project, she still only had one place she wanted to shoot her movie and that was back on her island where she is born and raised. "Nothing can compare to the beauty of our island, Halsnoy. It was never an option to shoot anywhere else than back home, it wouldn't be right for my story".

The newspaper Haugesunds avis published the story about Fortitude and how a small town girl from the island Halsnoy has established herself as an actress in Los Angeles, California and now came back to her hometown to shoot a film alongside her film crew from America and handpicked actors from Oslo.
